The Australian market is thriving— artists simply aren't.

Traditional galleries take 40–60% of every sale. Even contemporary online marketplaces routinely charge 30–35%. A work priced at $2,000 can quietly hand $800 of the artist's labour back to the middle. We started Signo to refuse that arithmetic.

The platform connects artists directly with collectors, while still providing the curation, protection, and clean commercial machinery that both sides need to trust the transaction. Every piece passes a considered quality review. Every sale lands in the studio's own bank account.

We take care of the platform so artists can take care of the work.

From the Founder

Why I built it.

I'm an artist. For years, nearly every gallery and platform that sold my work kept a third of it, sometimes half. I couldn't find a marketplace that simply let the artist keep what they earned, so I built one, then set about filling it with Australian artists.

The name is Latin. Signo: I sign. It's the last mark an artist makes on a finished piece, and the one thing we refuse to put a fee on.
